MAT Boys Football Champions – May 2019
On Tuesday, Preston Hedge’s hosted Parklands in the final games for both theYear 5 and Year 6 Boy’s football teams. The Year 5 boys settled well into the gameand both teams had chances in the first half. The game was determined by a calm finish from Preston Hedge’s, taking and holding on to, a 1-0 lead. The Year 6 boys were looking forward to their game after a close finish on penalties in the previous match.
Both teams didn’t disappoint, as they played with determination and came close to scoring on more than one occasion. After some nail-biting moments, the game finished 0-0 and went to penalties. The team held their nerve and claimed their second victory of the Year over Parklands. Well done boys!

They played brilliantly and worked well as a team to score 3 goals, winning the match 3-1. The year 6s were out to get a win this time round, and showed great effort and determination in scoring the first goal. The girls kept playing well but unfortunately lost 3-1 against a strong Parklands team. Well done to all our girls!
MAT Netball Champions – February 2019
On Tuesday 12th February our mixed Year 5 and 6 High 5 netball teams played their first competitive matches against Parklands Primary.
High 5 is designed specifically for children aged 9-11 and involves the rotation of positions after each quarter played. This enables players to try out the different positions of shooter, attack, defence and centre court which are seen in the more well known 7 a side game.
Both of our teams have been training hard and played exceptionally well in their games. They showed great teamwork and really encouraged each other on and off of the court. The final scores were 5-2 and 3-0 to Preston Hedge’s.
We are now looking forward to our away matches over at Parklands which will take place at the end of March. Well done to all of our children involved!
