Race For Life – June 2018
Our school field was filled with children and parents coming together to support Cancer Research in our second Race for Life. After an energetic warm up, children and parents completed three
laps around our school. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces crossing the finishing line and how proud the children were as they received their medals from our Values Ambassadors. Well done, everyone!
Sports Relief March 2018
Throughout the day, all of the children and staff took part in the Sports Mile. Phase One and Two also completed a circuit of sporting activities. Children enjoyed making fruit kebabs and learning about healthy eating. Yoga, Pilates and drawing to music helped the children explore mindfulness.
Phase Two children enjoyed Tai Chi and Ballet developing self-discipline over their movements. Investigations into the amount of sugar in items we regularly drink and eat gave the children food for thought. Making fresh guacamole as a tasty treat was also a highlight of the day.
The day was rounded off by the announcement that Year 3 had won the pedometer challenge of the week and we had Self-discipline presentations by our fabulous Values Ambassadors.
Christmas 2017 – Supporting Northampton Hope Centre
A representative from the Hope Centre in Northampton came and spoke to Phase 3 about its work. The Hope centre works with those in poverty and the homeless, never turning anyone who needs help away. The children shared with their friend their Christmas wish list, we then heard the wish list of the Hope Centre which consists of items such as squash, toiletries, socks, foil, toilet rolls, torches etc. One child reflected that “our wish lists are things we want but their wish list is the things you need.” This Christmas we will be collecting donation for the Hope Centre supporting the amazing work they do.
