Thursday 20th April – FOPH Fun Night
Fun Night Flyer
FOPH Community Library – February 2017
A phone box is coming for you! We are setting up a parent and pre-school child book swap in our entrance porch over the coming term… in a phone box! We are aware that we offer the library to all our school children, but would like to extend our love of books and reading to parents and pre-school age children. Once set up, you will be able to come and swap one of your own books for one in the phone box.
Whilst we hope that many of you will enjoy it, we also think that there is no better way of encouraging reading than your children seeing you enjoy it too. 2 If your young children already enjoy coming to school to choose a book, then that’s a superb start for their learning. We are currently asking for any donations of adult fiction books and any preschool books in good condition that you think would be nice books to help us start up the book swap.
If you can help, please could you drop any books into the school office. We will be very grateful to receive them

FOPH Smooga – September 2016
Mr McDonald has been working alongside the Friends of Preston Hedges to help rejuvenate our outdoor environment. Last term they raised enough funds to invest in a “Smooga” for the Plateau Playground (Year 4, 5, 6) –It’s designed to keep ball games contained within a manageable space, whilst still allowing other children access to this playground. It’s definitely a hit with the children!
FOPH Summer Fete June 2016
The FOPH Red Library Bus – Bought with the helps of funds raised in 2015.
The Friends of Preston Hedges
The Friends of Preston Hedge’s are a group of parents and staff who usually meet every half term to discuss and organise fun and exciting activities for the children and parents to enjoy at the school. Our main aim is to raise funds to support Preston Hedge’s Primary School. Each year we arrange the numerous activities for the children and a few fun nights for parents too. The past few years have been very successful with our fund raising and we have managed to purchase the following items for the school:
Key Stage 1 Adventure Trail, Key Stage 1 Courtyard, Key Stage 1 Sensory Garden, Key Stage 1 Sunshade, Key Stage 2 Playground Area, Key Stage 2 Outdoor Classroom and the swinging tyres and not forgetting the octopus basketball and many other smaller items in and around the school.
If you would like to become involved with the Friends of Preston Hedge’s or volunteer your help at any of the events, please contact the school office, where your details will be passed to Sue Oswin the Friends Chairperson.
