Fun, Creativity & Achievement

A Welcome from the Principal

I am delighted to welcome you to our Outstanding primary school! Founded on ‘Fun, Creativity and Achievement’, we believe we have a very special school where children are encouraged to thrive socially and academically.

We have the very highest aims for all of our children, and have in place an ambitious school curriculum that challenges our pupils, encouraging them to make connections in learning and enabling them, as they grow, to be critical and evaluative thinkers. We believe in ensuring that our children are given the right opportunities to develop a passion for learning, and we are very fortunate to have an exceptional team of teachers who work incredibly hard to provide the most excitement and innovative learning experiences to truly engage our children. From becoming fossil hunting paleontologists in Reception, to leading a marketing team pitching a concept car to Jaguar Landrover in Year Six, we strive to give our children real purpose and meaning to their learning at all opportunities (using the most innovative tech where possible too – our children really love exploring the past and the world through VR! ) Academically, our children achieve exceptionally well, and our school results are consistently significantly above national figures.

Ensuring that our children develop social empathy and demonstrate the skills needed to make a positive contribution to their school and wider community is equally important to us as their academic achievement. Our values system, which is integral to all that we do here at Preston Hedge’s,  promotes and rewards the children demonstrating our fundamental values of: ‘Respect’, ‘Resilience’, ‘Caring’, Co-operation’ ‘Self-Discipline’ and ‘Aspiration’. We are very proud that our children demonstrate these values both inside and out of school, and we often see our pupils and families giving up their precious personal time in order to support local and national charities and causes.

Our school community is increasingly one of wonderful diversity, and we have a superb pupil team of Equality and Diversity Champions in place to make sure that all members of our Preston Hedge’s family feel fully represented and see themselves and each other in the curriculum and in our wider school activities. Our children feel included, respected, happy and safe and we are continuously inspired by how much they help and support one another.

If you are interested in your child joining our fantastic school, please get in touch to organise a visit – I would be absolutely delighted to show you around!
